About Beveled Profile PDL Bars

With Kolbe's performance divided lite (PDL) system, bars are adhered on the interior and exterior of an insulating glass unit and bars are aligned within the unit. 

PDL bars are available in various widths and patterns. They may be finished to match the exterior and/or interior, as requested.

About Swinging Screens

Various types of screen mesh are available to keep insects from entering open windows and doors. Most Kolbe windows and doors have BetterVue® fiberglass mesh, which is less visible than many screens in the industry. Plus, the tighter weave keeps smaller bugs out, is flame retardant, and doesn't stain, crease or dent.

For even better visibility, request UltraVue® mesh. Both BetterVue and UltraVue are GreenGuard®-certified, meaning that they meet strict chemical emissions limits for healthier interiors. Plus, they have the added value of Water Shed Technology™, which is an advanced water repellent coating that allows screens to repel water and debris. It increases the life expectancy of the screens by keeping them cleaner longer. Water beads up and rolls off, to preserve viewing clarity, rain or shine. As you can see, the view remains much more visible when screens have Water Shed Technology applied (left side of Water Shed photo), as opposed to those without it (right side of Water Shed photo).

Aluminum screen mesh is available for areas with fiberglass screen-eating insects.

About American Style Handles

American style handles have the deadbolt located at the top.

A wide array of lever handle sets is offered for swinging door panels. Available in both European and American styles, the handle sets include multi-point locking hardware with weather-resistant, stainless steel operator parts and hardware channels. The American style hardware situates the locking cylinder above the handle where it operates independently of the multi-point extensions. This allows for quick locking without the need of a particular locking sequence and, when employed on French doors, prevents the secondary panel from being opened before the first.

Keyed handle sets are also available. Choose from a variety of attractive finishes to coordinate with interior décor.

Notes

München handles are not available on doors with 3" wide stiles.

* Hoppe’s Resista® finishes are available on select handle sets to help protect the surface from tarnishing, peeling and cracking, also is recommended for coastal applications.

⁂Oil-rubbed is a living finish that will change appearance with time and use.
